Budget

• do we have a H+S budget? Should we track this
• Steph has been sending Daniel funding opportunities
• Transmountain application has been approved ($50,000)

TMX Funding Received

• we are on list of 30 bands affected by pipeline
• $50,000 was received
• $5,000 ear-marked for Feasibility Study for H+S training facility
• $20,000 for Daniel's H+S position
• $10,000 community Outreach (can be used for a Malahat Community Action Team) - put on Feast, giveaway for Emergency backpacks, public speakers, 
• Event 1 (March/April) - could be 'Community preparedness'
• Event 2 - (January) - could be 'Tsunami Preparedness' - could also tie in 'Oil Spill Response' or maybe 'overall Marine Safety'
• $10,000 Training - Community Response/First Responders for the Community

Community Champions

• call for Expression of Interest
• identify community champions after the Events in the new year
• find funds for Honoraria for activities
• there should always be community champion 'on duty' and ready to respond
  

Security Guard Training

• planned for 2024

Other Nations

• Penekalut Tribes and Lyackson has done a lot of work on emergency response

Event 1 Discussion

• January 30 is the date of interest
• giveaway MRE meals (Daniel)
• Environment to plan speaker/movie and Daniel to plan food/catering

Fire Extinguisher Training

• two dates were done in November
• need to have more people participate
• ability to conduct a campus wide fire drill should be targeted
• sensitivity around the house fire a couple years ago

Incident Reports Underway

• threats have been an issue - could we use signage but in a 'positive' affirmations (instead of DO NOT's)?
• home care workers need to have more training - workers are at risk
• staff injured and was not able to get a tetanus shot at Malahat Health
• Health services has Naloxone kits and they will be dispersed and Staff trained

• Daniel to send draft policy to Rachel - Daniel
• Book KKC for January 30 - Meghan to connect with Kathleen Horne (suggest boardroom for Beading) cc' Cindy Smith 
• Book Pieter Romer /movie for January 30 - Meghan to connect with Pieter
• purchase gifts for January 30 event with MSET funds - Meghan
• Discuss Health care/services with Cindy for Staff care - Daniel
• aim to plan nation-wide fire drill/conduct more Fire Extinguisher training - Daniel - IN PROGRESS
