Proofpoint Quarantine Digest
What is Proofpoint Essentials Quarantine Digest?
Proofpoint Quarantine Digest is a feature of Proofpoint Essentials, an email security system designed to protect your inbox from spam, phishing, business email compromise (BEC), imposter emails, ransomware, malware and other email-based attacks. Please reference How to Identify Spam Emails for more information.
Proofpoint processes all incoming emails before they reach your inbox. Emails that it identifies as potentially harmful or spam are automatically quarantined. The Quarantine Digest is a daily email that provides a summary of all these quarantined emails, ensuring that you don't miss any important emails that may have been inadvertently caught.
Here is what a typical Quarantine Digest email looks like:
How to Understand Your Quarantine Digest
Each day, the Quarantine Digest email provides key details about messages that have been quarantined. This includes the sender's address, the subject line, and the delivery date. Importantly, it also allows you to preview quarantined emails in a safe environment, with all potentially harmful links and attachments removed.
What if a Legitimate Email Gets Quarantined?
Don't worry if a legitimate email ends up quarantined. Simply inform your administrator about the specific email you need released, providing necessary details such as the sender's address, the subject line, and the date the email was sent. Your administrator can then release the email from quarantine swiftly.
Staying Updated with Your Email Security
The Quarantine Digest plays a crucial role in maintaining your email security. By providing you with a daily summary of quarantined messages, it ensures you stay updated and don't miss any important messages, while keeping your inbox free from harmful content.
