Getting Set Up

Section 1: Login to office.com on your PC

1.1 On the main screen, in the top-right corner, click your name or initials, and select View account.

1.2 Under 'Security info' select UPDATE INFO

1.3 Select Add sign-in method

1.4 Select Authenticator app and Add

1.5 If you'd like to use the Microsoft Authenticator app (easiest), click Next, and Next again until you see the QR code displayed.

1.6 When you see the QR code, leave the screen open and switch over to your phone.

Section 2: Get the mobile app

Microsoft Authenticator on the Google Play Store

Please ensure you download the correct app, as many of the options have similar names and logos

2.1 The app store page should look like the screenshots below, depending on your phone. Install the app.

2.2 Upon opening the app for the first time, you will be greeted with the page shown below. You do not have to move the slider, but you must click Accept

2.3 Click Scan a QR code.

2.4 Allow access to your camera and allow notifications via the security pop-ups.

2.5 Scan the QR code displayed on your PC.

2.6.  If successful, your account should now appear in the main screen of the authenticator app. Please select it. You should see a 6 digit code.



Section 3: Finishing the set-up

3.1 Once you have successfully scanned the QR code from your PC into your phone, you may click Next.

3.2 Lastly, you will need to approve the sign-in notification on your phone.

Congratulations! You have successfully set up Multi-Factor Authentication on your Microsoft account.
