Intro to Inkscape

Inkscape is an open-source vector image designer. Open-source means its totally free forever - once you learn how to use it, you'll be able to download it on any PC and use it wherever you are without having to worry about money. Vector images are great for logo designs and the tools available lend themselves extremely well to Coast Salish style art.

The best Inkscape educator on YouTube is Logos By Nick, check out his intro explainer video here:

Cool! Logos By Nick's tutorials tend to be a little more advanced, so we'll save the rest of his videos for later. I recommend starting with the beginners series by TJ FREE. The videos are organized into a convenient playlist found here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLqazFFzUAPc5lOQwDoZ4Dw2YSXtO7lWNv

Don't forget to track which videos you've already watched so you don't miss anything!

I also recommend checking out the quick design tutorial found here: https://docs.malahatnation.com/books/design-guide/page/design-training-series

Once you get comfortable with the basics, we can move onto tutorials by Logos By Nick.
