Time off in Lieu

Calculating Overtime

Any hours accrued over a standard 8 hour work day are banked at time and a half. These calculations are completed automatically by filling out a Time In Lieu Request Form.

For example:

If a 12 hour day is worked:

  • 8 hours - standard work day
  • 4 hours - at time and one half

Total Hours = 8(1) + 4(1.5) = 14 hours

Bank Time

To bank overtime hours, you must get permission from your supervisor. You must also fill in a 1) Time off In Lieu Request Form and 2) Time off In Lieu Agreement. These forms are submitted to Finance. TiL request forms should be submitted as soon as possible so they can be processed by finance and added to your time off bank.

(Note we are no longer using the Monday.com board to track new TiL accrued as of September 2022).
