Budget

- Steph has been sending Daniel funding opportunities
- Transmountain application has been approved ($50,000)
TMX Funding Received
- we are on list of 30 bands affected by pipeline
- $50,000 was received
- $5,000 ear-marked for Feasibility Study for H+S training facility
- $20,000 for Daniel's H+S position
- $10,000 community Outreach (can be used for a Malahat Community Action Team) - put on Feast, giveaway for Emergency backpacks, public speakers,
- Event 1 (March/April) - could be 'Community preparedness'
- Event 2 - (January) - could be 'Tsunami Preparedness' - could also tie in 'Oil Spill Response' or maybe 'overall Marine Safety'
- $10,000 Training - Community Response/First Responders for the Community
Community Champions
- call for Expression of Interest
- identify community champions after the Events in the new year
- find funds for Honoraria for activities
- there should always be community champion 'on duty' and ready to respond
Security Guard Training
- planned for 2024
Other Nations
- Penekalut Tribes and Lyackson has done a lot of work on emergency response
