Identifying a Scam Email
Some initial words, to be cleaned up later with reference images:
A good test is to look at the domain name of the sending address. If the domain looks good you can type it into your address bar and see if it takes you where you expect. Next, you want to ensure the account wasn't hacked: does the language used seem legit? Does the signature make sense? Are they asking you to do anything strange? Last, the attachment. What is the filetype extension, .zip files, .exe files, .msi filesfiles, .html are all red flags. .pdf, .jpg. .png are all usually safe and are not red flags on their own. However be wary of these attachments if there are other red flags on the email.
