Notes

Federal Inspection Follow-up

• Malahat is federally regulated - so need to follow Federal directives and regulations
• Malahat is also insured by WorkSafe BC
• Not sure what happens after treaty?
• Infrastructure and Housing - has limited health culture
• need more non-supervisory people on the Committee

Near Misses and Incident Reports and Monthly Walk Through

• Narcan training - ensure that cap is used when opening the vial, incident report is created
• where do incident reports go? Can the OHS committee help manage?
• Fire Miss - storage near/above/too close to the baseboard heater, each building needs to have reps doing walk through buildings: Linus is building a map
• consider incentives for near-miss forms (e.g. prize draw)

Action Items

• find another co-Chair for the OHS meetings
• get one of Ty's staff to come to next meeting if possible
• follow up as to why Jeni is not coming to meetings
• Desiree to ask Rachel where Incident reports are stored - should be in OHS reviews?
• fix rebar in Electrical shed near Gazebo
• secure shelving in Environment Building
• share Linus' map to next meeting
• get Josh to write a 'Notice to Staff' about H & S 
• look through Jeni's documents
